Coffman YMCA Swim Team Coaches:
David Mail
During Coach David's first
season as Head Coach, the Coffman YMCA
Swim Team broke 46 team records and
had seven swimmers qualify for YMCA Long
Course Nationals. He was also named
Coach of the Year for the Long Course
Season for the Southwest Ohio YMCA Swim
League.
Last year
David was an assistant coach with the
Coffman YMCA Swim Team. He helped coach
Coffman to it's highest finish ever at
the 2008 Short Course National YMCA Swim
Meet. The Men's team placed 30th out of
221 total teams. He also coached
numerous swimmer's to YMCA national top
16 rankings.
From
2002-2007, David was Head Coach of the
Middletown Area YMCA Swim Team. He also
spent two years coaching the Middletown
High School Swim Team. During his tenure
at the Middletown YMCA, David coached
both High School State Qualifiers and
National YMCA Qualifiers.
Growing
up, David swam competitively for the
Middletown Area YMCA and was a
three-time YMCA National Qualifier. He
also qualified for the Ohio High School
State Swim Meet his senior year. He
still holds records for swimming at both
the Middletown YMCA and Middletown High
School.
David
attended and swam at Wright State
University; upon
leaving Wright State, joined the Ohio
Army National Guard and is currently a
Sergeant.
David
graduated from Miami University in 2007
with a B.S. is Physical Education.
David
holds certifications in life guarding,
first aid, CPR, and YMCA Principles of
Competitive Swimming and Diving. He is
a current USA Swimming Coach and a Level
3 educated and certified Coach through
the American Swim Coaches Association.
David
currently resides in Middletown, Ohio.
Clint Bostick
Clint has been a head swim team coach at
Northwest YMCA, the East Dayton Boys
Club (AAU), and most recently at Miami
County YMCA (MCY). Clint was a
part-time assistant coach at the
Kettering YMCA (KEY) for the last two
years. Over the years, Clint has
coached National finalists, National
qualifiers, Zone champions, State High
School finalists and League record
holders. Clint is a Level 3 educated and
certified coach through the American
Swim Coaches Association.
At Northwest
YMCA, his first National qualifier was
Toby Boedeker, who is now the Head Coach
for the Beavercreek YMCA Swim
Team. During his 32 years in education,
Clint has coached Track, Football, and
Wrestling.
Clint and
his wife Joyce live in Piqua where Clint
is an elementary school guidance
counselor and Joyce is an elementary
school teacher with Piqua City Schools.
Clint and Joyce have five sons, their
pet chocolate lab “Koko” and cat “Ebby”.
Clint loves to read and research
swimming, relax at home with his family,
and watch football.
Aaron Longworth
Aaron is currently in his
second year with Coffman YMCA Swim Team. During his first
year at Coffman
he coached the Green Group. As the
assistant for that group he coached
qualifiers for both the AA and Zone
Championships.
Prior to arriving at
Coffman, Aaron was a Co-Head Swim
Instructor at the Middletown YMCA for
two years. After teaching swim lessons,
Aaron coached the 8 and under group for
two years where he also coached AA and
Zone Championship qualifiers. While
coaching at Middletown YMCA, he also
coached the 10 and under group with the
Germantown Gators during the summer of
2007.
Aaron is a
current USA Swimming Coach
and a Level 1 educated Coach through the
American Swim Coaches Association and is
currently work on Level 2.
He also
holds certifications in life guarding,
first aid, CPR, and YMCA Principles in
Competitive Swimming and Diving.
Aaron is currently
attending the University of Cincinnati
where he is majoring in Athletic
Training and looking to become an
Orthopedic Surgeon.
Aaron
currently resides in Middletown, Ohio.
Bobby McRae
Bobby swam for the
New Albany Swim Club and Westerville
High School where he was a state
qualifier and school record holder.
As a Freshman in
college, Bobby swam for Bowling Green
State University where
he received the
Swimmer of the Year Award. After his
freshman year the men's swimming program
was cut and he transferred to Wright
State University. During his time at
Wright State he swam primarily butterfly
and backstroke and helped the Raiders to
three consecutive league championships.
In 2006,
Bobby graduated from Wright State
University with a B.S. is Biological
Sciences. He is currently pursuing his
Ph.D. is Biomedical Sciences at Wright
State University.
Bobby has
been involved in coaching and swim
lessons since 2001. Most recently, he
was an assistant coach for the SOLO Swim
Club in Atherton, CA as well as the
swimming and water polo camp coordinator
and coach. He was nominated as a coach
for the USA Pacific Swimming Jr.
Leadership Camp.
Bobby
currently resides in Fairborn, Ohio.
Emily Oehrtman
Emily is currently in her first year as
a Coffman YMCA swim coach. Her main
focus this season is the while group.
Before
coaching for the Coffman YMCA Swim Team,
Emily coached the 12 & unders at the
Kettering YMCA for three years. She was
the main coach of the 11-12 year old age
group last year and had many AA and Zone
Championship qualifiers. Emily also was
an assistant coach for two years for the
Cardinal Hill Swim Team and head coach
for three years. Emily has over five
years experience in giving swim lessons
as well, both at Cardinal Hill and the
Kettering YMCA.
Emily swam
for the Beavercreek YMCA for 13 years
and also swam for Beavercreek High
School throughout high school.
Emily is
currently attending Miami University and
is majoring in Physical Education.
Emily
resides in New Lebanon, Ohio with her
husband JP Oehrtman.
Kathy Wright
Kathy is in her fourth season with the
Coffman YMCA swim team and is the lead
10-under coach.
This past
summer she coached the Long Course
program for our 10 & under swimmers,
which was very successful. Kathy was
able to increase 10-under Long Course
participation by more the 200%.
Kathy has 12 years of coaching experience.
She started as an assistant coach at the
Middletown YMCA and was able to move
into the Head Coaching position after
only one year. Kathy was able to build
the Middletown YMCA from about 60
swimmers to nearly 100, while qualifying
relays for the YMCA National Swimming
Championships which Middletown had not
done since the mid 80’s.
Kathy has also been the Head Coach for
Dayton Christian High School (DCHS) and
coached multiple Ohio High School State
finalists in her tenure.
Kathy is currently a level 2 certified coach
through the American Swim Coaches
Association. Kathy
has five children all of which were
swimmers.
Kathy
currently resides in Germantown, Ohio
